Green roofs effectively consist of a combination of drainage, filtration and waterproofing layers, giving a secure base to support vegetation and growing mediums. In recent years green roofs have gained popularity owing to the heightened awareness of the environmental and ecological benefits offered by the following systems.

Extensive Green Roofs incorporate the use of a low-growing but potentially colourful carpet of planting (i.e. Sedum). This variation of green roof requires minimal maintenance and at the same time offers aesthetical enhancement and strong ecological benefits.

Semi-Intensive Green Roofs will provide a more varied landscape normally including shrubs, wild flowers and heathers, but still with a relatively low build up. Although limited, scheduled maintenance will be required, Semi-Intensive Green Roofs will offer the same advantages as extensive build up, along with access for recreational use.

Intensive Green Roofs are able to replicate everyday ground landscaping in all respects. Although regular maintenance and irrigation will be required, the finished result will offer superior visual enhancement and comprehensive recreational use along with ecological benefits.

  • Reduction in stormwater run-off
  • Improved thermal and acoustic performance

Suitable for use over:

  • Built-up felt
  • Cold-applied liquid coatings
